The popular entertainment and pop culture site UPROXX published a book review written by Smith Publicity’s sports PR guru and sports book publicist extraordinaire Adam Rifenberick. Adam reviewed the new book, A Season in the Sun: The Rise of Mickey Mantle, (Basic Books) by Randy Roberts and Johnny Smith, which examines a key year in the life of the legendary baseball player.

Press Box Publicity’s specialty has always been sports book PR, but this year I am thrilled to announce some fantastic news that you may have already seen in PW Daily and other outlets.
In an effort to expand my bandwidth and elevate client service, Press Box Publicity joined forces with a true book marketing powerhouse; the largest and most successful independent publishing PR firm in the industry—Smith Publicity. With over 20 years of experience in all genres, thousands of successful campaigns—that’s right, thousands—and a reputation for customer service second to none, it is a fantastic match.
While Smith is large in terms of the book publicity trade, they are still a small company, and as I’ve learned over the past few months, the dedication they show toward client service is truly amazing. Smith Publicity lives up to its motto of “we make good things happen for authors,” and much more. It really is a different kind of PR agency, one that focuses on positivity and goodwill like I’ve never seen in another firm in my 15 plus years in the industry.
Press Box Publicity will still be the premiere independent sports book publicity firm in the industry, but starting this month, I will have the team of 20+ professional publicists at Smith supporting me every step of the way. In addition, if you have a non-sports title on the horizon that you’re thinking of hiring out, I can bring Smith Publicity into the conversation at any time.
I will be at Book Expo for the first time in a number of years this May and will be spending more time on the road, so there’s a good chance that you’ll run into me somewhere in 2018! Or if you want to set up some time to chat at your offices, I would love to stop by to meet. Just say the word.
